Dr. Daniel Lane, BSc DC (UK) DACNB (USA) FFAAFN QEEGD, is an experienced chiropractor with over 20 years in private practice and has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of brain-based disorders through the activation of neuroplasticity.
Dr. Lane has completed extensive study within the field of neurology and neurological rehabilitation, and has been awarded the title of Diplomate of The American Chiropractic Neurology Board and is also a board-certified Diplomate in QEEG (Quantitative Electro-Encephalogram Brain-Mapping). Dr. Lane has completed advanced training in Vestibular Rehabilitation with Prof. Susan Herdman and Prof. Richard Clendaniel (recognised as two of the world’s leading authorities in Vestibular Disorders, based at Emory University, USA), has completed training in Trans-Cranial Direct Current Stimulation at The Berenson-Allen Centre for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation, located at The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre and Harvard Medical School (USA), and has also completed training in stroke and neuro-rehabilitation with Prof. Edward Taub at The University of Alabama (USA), featured in Dr. Norman Doidge’s international best-selling book “The Brain That Changes Itself.”
Dr. Lane moved from Oxford, in The United Kingdom, to Perth with his family in 2007. Whilst in practice at his clinic in Oxford, Dr. Lane was instrumental in the post-graduate education of chiropractors nationally, regionally, and on an individual basis, serving as a mentor for new graduates.Upon moving to Perth, in addition to private practice, Dr. Lane worked for Murdoch University as a Clinical Supervisor and also later headed The Clinical Outreach Programme at The School of Chiropractic and Sports Science.
In addition to seeing patients privately, Dr. Lane works part-time for Curtin University employed as a Sessional Academic in Neuroscience and Neurodevelopment at The School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work. Dr. Lane has also provided consultancy services to The Brightwater Care Group (Oats St.) in Perth, which provides specialist rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain injury.
Dr Lane is a member of a number of professional associations: He is a founding Fellow of The Australasian Academy of Functional Neurology (AAFN), a Charter Member of The International Academy of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation (IAFNR), a Member of International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR), a Member of The Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA) and The International Association for The Study of Pain (IASP) and Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Dr Lane appears as a regular guest on Curtin FM’s Afternoon Show and is available for presentations and lectures.
