How can you test for ADHD?

Traditionally the diagnosis of ADHD is based upon a clinical interview (with a paediatrician or psychiatrist) and information from parents and teachers, using rating scales or questionnaires. These are obviously all important measures, however as with all subjective assessments, may be open to bias or misinterpretation. That is where objective testing can really help.

The Perth Brain Centre uses QbCheck, the world’s only ADHD test that is CE Marked, FDA Cleared and TGA Approved for use as an aid in the accurate assessment and treatment evaluation of ADHD for people aged 6 to 60 years old.

QbCheck quickly and accurately tests the 3 core symptoms of ADHD - Attention, Hyperactivity and Impulsivity. The test takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Results are analysed and compared to the results of individuals of the same age and gender, with and without ADHD. This comparison makes it possible for QbCheck, based on objective data, to accurately and objectively predict the likelihood of ADHD. Results are immediately available and displayed in a clear report. Accurate testing helps to remove the “guesswork” from diagnosis, and helps to better direct advice and treatment.
